Have you ever thought that you are for the murder of animals? If you had asked me a couple of days ago, I’d have given a negative answer. But just recently I was turning this question over in my mind and understood that: first, I’m crazy about excellent leather footwear; second, I’m fond of beautiful fur coats; and third, I adore meat dishes like pork chops. And I’ve come to the conclusion: everyone who likes these things appears to be for the murder of animals, don’t they? Actually, it’s true but just partially. The animals’ rights activists are against killing animals for skin and furs. Thevegetarians accuse people who use meat for food of tormenting animals. So who is right? On the one hand the position of the protectors of animals’ rights is valid because all over the world, valuable species of animals are in danger of extinction. Among them: tigers, elephants, rhinos, snakes and so on. Many people participate in illegal hunting or fishing just for the sake of amusement. And to tell the truth authorities of many countries turn their backs to this lawlessness. Furthermore, lots of people earn money thanks to animals, far from always providing them with necessary living conditions. But on the other hand, people by nature are beasts of prey, so meat is an essential part of our daily nutrition. And it’s absolutely normal! As for fur coats and leather goods I can say that there are factory farms which raise animals commercially exactly for these aims, and at the same time their meat is used for food. Isn’t it reasonable? To sum up, I’d say that we shouldn’t go to extremes in our opinions and actions. But everyone must make every effort to conserve the animal world particularly representatives of rare species. The duty of the government of every country is to stop illegal hunting and fishing. Besides, authorities must not only pass the laws but prevent the abuse of them. In order to achieve these purposes our actions must have a global and international scale. Let’s save the world together!
